例によって手持ちの CD との重複は多いけれども，こういう編集盤の流れの中で聴くと新たな発見もある。
取り分け最近嵌っているのが Little Milton の歌う 'Whenever You Come Around'。彼の Malaco での最後のアルバム "Guitar Man"[2002] の収録曲で既聴だったが・・・
オリジナルは，Vince Gill というカントリーシンガーのヒット[1994, Country Singles: 2, Hot 100: 72] で，↓ の収録曲。

↑ は，Soundstage という Nashville のスタジオで録音されているのだが，Bass にクレジットされているのは Willie Weeks。彼も Nashville でセッション・ミュージシャンとして活動していた時期があった・・・？
Willie Nelson が最新作で同じ曲を取り上げていたので，それも取り寄せてみた。

↑ も嫌いではないのだが・・・。
残念ながら，Little Milton のカバーは Youtube には見当たらなかったけれども，Vince Gill や Willie Nelson のバージョンにはないホーンのフレーズとサウンドが，シンセっぽくチープなもののツボを押さえていて，ソラ泣け，ホラ泣け・・・とばかりに涙腺を刺激して，たまらない・・・(T_T)。
Malaco 時代の Little Milton は，よくできた編集盤が発売されたばかり。Chess や T.K. 時代の作品も手頃な価格の日本盤 CD がリリースされている。

Ric & Ron のシングルの中にはまだ CD 化されていないものがいくつか残っているし，未発表のテイクやバージョンもあるようだ。
最近リリースされ始めた ↓ のシリーズでの発掘を期待したい・・・m(_ _)m
