Atlantic 時代の Bettye Swann の，未発表曲も含まれた正にコンプリートな作品集。これまでコンピ盤にいくつか収録されたことがあるけれども，まとまってリリースされるのは初めて。Bettye Swann の楽曲リスト → Bettye Swann.xls

１９７６年にリリースされたシングル(20. 21.)[Atlantic 3352] を最後に彼女は音楽業界から離れてしまうが，この CD のライナー(Charles Waring) にも書かれているように，昨年６月に the Rare Soul Weekender in Cleethopes, England のステージで歌っていて，その模様が Youtube に数曲アップされている。

　彼女自身が書いた ↑ がヒット[1967, R&B Singles: 1, Hot 100: 21] した Money ではかなり自作曲を録音していたが，

　その割合は時代と共に減り，表題の CD に自作は１曲も含まれていない。

Capitol のあと Rick Hall と契約し，レーベルとしての FAME からシングルを１枚リリースするものの，すぐに Atlantic に移籍しているが，録音そのものは Muslce Shoals で行われている(1.～ 7.)。
Mickey Buckins や Clayton Ivey という Fame Gang の中心だった人物がプロデュースや作曲に関わっているが，もうこの時点では Freeman Brown はいない。FAME ではなく，Muscle Shoals の別のスタジオのセッション・ミュージシャンとして活動していた。
FAME Recording Studios について Sweden のテレビ局が作成したドキュメンタリーの中でぼくが最も印象的だったのは，最後のほうでミュージシャンたちがスタジオから出て行くときに「タイムカード」を押している場面。つまり，彼らは「パートタイマー」だった。・・・であるならば，当然，より高い時給を提示されればそちらで働くのが当たり前・・・ということになる。
当時，Motown の下請けとして契約し Los Angels にも事務所を構えていた Wishbone Production のほうが好条件だったことは容易に想像できる。

Atlantic 時代の Bettye Swann の最大のヒット曲[1972, R&B Singles: 16, Hot 100: 46] だった 'Victim Of A Foolish Heart' は，George Jackson のデモ録音が CD 化されている。

一部の黒人の間では 'sanger' として認められている Joss Stone がデビュー・アルバムでカバーしていたバージョンも印象的だった。

すでに 'SONGs often Covered' で取り上げた曲(3. 4. 5. 16. 17. 19.) の中で，記事を作成していて意外にカバーが多いと感じたのが 'Yours Until Tomorrow'。

Carole King 自身のデモ録音も CD 化済みだった。
