Doc Pomus(1925-1991) は，幼いころに小児麻痺をわずらい，'40 年代初めに松葉杖をついて歌う白人のブルース・シンガーとしてキャリアをスタートさせ，１９４７年に Atlantic と契約してソングライティングに専念してからは，数多くの名曲・ヒット曲をもつ人物。
１９９１年に亡くなった後，１９９５年にリリースされたのが，このトリビュート・アルバム。参加しているメンバーの名前を眺めているだけで，Doc Pomus がいかに重要な人物だったか，よくわかる。
優秀なソングライターだっただけでなく，素晴らしい人格の持ち主でもあり，誰からも慕われていたそうだ。
